N.E.C. Nijmegen has achieved a historic third place in the 2025/26 Eredivisie and secured a Champions League spot for the first time. The team's successes are entirely self-made, thanks to manager Dick Schreuder's attacking brand of football. N.E.C. Nijmegen will face Greek giants Olympiacos in the third qualifying round. Olympiacos finished second in the 2025/26 Greek Super League, six points behind champions AEK Athens. If N.E.C. Nijmegen reaches the play-offs, it will face either Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt or Belgian Super Cup winners Union Saint-Gilloise. Currently, defender Perr Schuurs is sidelined. N.E.C. Nijmegen fought valiantly and earned a strong 0-0 draw against Olympiacos in Piraeus on August 4th.
