N.E.C. Nijmegen loses star player Sano

N.E.C. Nijmegen's Technical Director Carlos Aalbers is frustrated by the departure of player Kodai Sano to PSV. The transfer is almost complete, but the Japanese international did not want to play for NEC anymore. Sano was one of the best players of NEC in the previous season and scored three times in 34 Eredivisie matches.

Why did Sano leave?

Sano left NEC for PSV because he did not want to play for NEC. He had an agreement with NEC to stay, but he wanted to join PSV to continue his career. NEC tried to convince him to stay, but he refused.

What happens now?

Now that Sano has left, NEC will have to look for a new player to fill his position. The club has already been monitoring a number of players and will likely sign one of them to fill the vacancy. NEC will also have to look for a new player to fill Sano's position in the starting lineup.

N.E.C. Nijmegen in the Champions League

N.E.C. Nijmegen is currently in the Champions League qualifying round and will play against Olympiakos. The first match has already been won, but the second match has not yet been played. NEC will have to see if they can win the Champions League to earn a spot in the group stage.

Health of Schuurs

N.E.C. Nijmegen player P. Schuurs is currently out due to an injury. He will likely not play in the upcoming matches.
