NEC Nijmegen Bounces Back from Telestar Loss with Strong Win Against Willem II

NEC Nijmegen has recovered from a difficult start in the Eredivisie. After a disappointing loss against Telestar, the club secured a 4-1 victory over Willem II. The result is a good sign for their upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Bodo/Glimt.

Adam Tahaui, who made his first start after Sami Ouaissa's injury, scored the first goal in the first minute of extra time. He outmaneuvered reserve goalkeeper Karst de Leeuw with a header. Veterans Tjaronn Chery and Bryan Linssen added to Willem II's woes in the second half, while Kaj Sierhuis gave NEC a 4-0 lead in the 67th minute with a classy volley.

Thomas Verheydt scored for Willem II, but it was a statistical goal, as NEC played a perfect warm-up for their UCL match.
