N.E.C. Nijmegen has signed a new contract with Bram Nuytinck. The 36-year-old central defender signs for one season and will therefore go to Europe with his N.E.C. Nuytinck fought his way back from a cruciate ligament injury last season. After months of rehabilitation, he made his comeback against Heracles Almelo on February 7. With three starting positions and five substitute appearances, Nuytinck had his share in the most successful season in the club's history. Technical director Carlos Aalbers is satisfied with the contract extension. Aalbers said it is more than admirable how Nuytinck has fought his way back last season and how fit he is. When Nuytinck returned to N.E.C. three years ago, he expressed his ambition to play European football. The fact that he has now achieved this with his own club makes the story even more special. Nuytinck has played a total of seven seasons for N.E.C., divided into two periods. In that time, he made 146 official appearances. N.E.C. Nijmegen is happy to have Nuytinck on board again. The club hopes that Nuytinck can use his experience and quality to help the team in the coming seasons. Nuytinck is an important player for N.E.C.
